Coach Jeanine Vany
Coach Jeanine Vany is very excited to begin her basketball coaching career at CYDC Panthers! Jeanine played 4A high school basketball and provincial basketball for NL, upon graduation she played for the
Saint Mary’s University basketball team. Jeanine has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology and Environmental studies and spent the last 20 years working in the oil and gas and geothermal industries
as a professional geologist in Calgary. Jeanine’s daughter has recently joined the CYDC Panthers club and being in the gym has reignited her passion for the game. “Basketball taught me many of the skills I needed to succeed working in the energy industry including teamwork, self-discipline, dedication, and pursuit of excellence. I am very excited to experience the joy of basketball again while helping players realize their capabilities both on and off the court using the John Wooden coaching philosophy which fosters an environment of excellence, teamwork, and personal growth.”
