In Terence's words "Basketball has given me so much in life, I enjoy giving back through the game and I am honored to be a coach with CYDC". Terence's coaching philosophy includes teaching our kids to go the extra mile both inside and outside of the gym. He believes in teaching his players to actively build each other up and that all players need to be mentally In the game vs simply running through the motions. He also challenges players to apply the same drive and principles they are taught in the gym, in their pursuits of being a quality person in their homes, school, and every aspect of their lives. As a shy kid growing up, basketball gave Terence confidence and success which helped mold him into the person he is today. He is proud to have been coached by the great Allen Traxel in his formative playing years. The foundation he learned from coach Traxel was crucial to his success as a player. As a youth, Terence earned his spot on multiple community, school, and provincial teams playing in tournaments all over western Canada along with several US cities including Florida, Seattle, and Las Vegas. The experiences gained led him to earn multiple MVP's, become a High School All-star, Starting Guard on the SR men's City Championship winning team at James Fowler High School, and a collegiate student-athlete playing 2-guard for the SAIT Trojans. Terence has over 11 years of coaching experience and has been with CYDC for the last 3 years working with the BHL, Junior BHL, U11/U13 academies, and the U11 boys travel team.
